We cannot say enough great things about Casa Velas. The staff is warm, and welcoming, they always go beyond to make your vacation perfect. The grounds are clean and beautiful; the food is delicious. Geraldine, Miguel, Manuel, Fredy, Gerardo and Benny are outstanding; customer service is their priority. At the Beach Club Eduardo, Ramon, Daniel are fantastic; always making sure your days and evenings are perfect. Everyone always has a smile. We cannot wait to return!

We have been to Casa Velas foe several years and this year they exceeded our expectations. The new Executive Chef Isaac has added some dishes that are world class and he even gave us his incredible salmon recipe. Bernadino in Emiliano is always the prefect waiter with a great smile and menu advice on any dish. Daniel at the Beach club is charning and is a master at Mexican Coffee. A massage at the Spa is a must with excellent staff and facilities

The reviews of Casa Velas are largely based on staff, and for that, I cannot disagree. However, I do not find Casa Velas to be a 5 star resort and I would not stay here again. We booked a suite with a jacuzzi bath in the bathroom. When we arrived, we were "upgraded" to a suite with a plunge pool outside and no jacuzzi bath. While some may be happy with the upgrade, we were not. The plunge pools are NOT heated and in February are pretty freezing. We never used it. When we inquired at the front desk, they told us the website had incorrect information on a jacuzzi tub being in the bathroom. Ok, fine. Also, they advertise "premium" alcohol brand, but the vodka is Absolut. At times, I saw them pull the Grey Goose out from below, but it didn't happen often. The food, while pretty good, is very tiring. They have the one main restaurant, which is the same menu except for the addition of a couple items on the first page every day. We had a night at Grand Velas included in our stay, but when we went to inquire about it, the concierge told us they only get one reservation per night and they were booked the whole time we were there. Only after paying a special tip, did we get in. There are no warm pools/jacuzzis at Casa Velas. The main property pool is not heated and there is no hot tub. The beach club has two hot tubs, but none of them are heated and therefore, not hot. Our rooms were not attended to until 4-5ish in the afternoon. When inquiring about a late checkout (after 12), we were told we would have to pay extra even though no one entered our rooms to service them until after 5 pm the prior day. I could understand had they needed the rooms, but wow. The staff is great. Everyone that works there has a smile on their face and is very nice and accommodating. I would rate this hotel as 3 3/4 stars..

I’ve reviewed Casa Velas 3x now and after 7 years of going to other resorts decided to return. Firstly we couldn’t get over the number of staff that have stayed and were more than happy to greet them all. The resort exceeded our expectations . Staff friendliness, food, cleanliness of grounds and room all excellent. Our favourite dinners were at the Beach Club. Get the shuttle over at 6 to get beautiful phots of the sunset. The first page of the menu changes every night. I’ve included the Monday menu which is steak/ beef night. The same applies to Emiliano, first page is the theme of the day, but you can also choose from the rest of the large menu. Emiliano dress code is men long pants and yes some are turned away if not properly attired👍 We also use to like Andreas ( over at Velas Vallarta) and were told the dress code was also men long pants. Not true..ball caps etc were allowed. Vaping was allowed or not monitored at Casa Velas. You must make reservation with the concierge ( on your left as you walk-in) for Emiliano, Beach Club and Andreas. No reservation needed for Ribera which had great food and is located on the ocean at Velas Vallarta. Loved spending part of the day at the Beach Club and listening to the roar of the waves, then returning to the quiet of Casa Velas. The servers, Geraldo, Jose Freddie can’t do enough for you moving very quickly to get you drinks or food. The restaurant manager at Emiliano Jose couldn’t do enough for us. The most difficult decision in our day was where to go for sunning and where to eat! Excellent excellent servers, service, and gourmet meals. Another post I made in June, I made Club Hotel Du Torre in Amalfi our favourite resort, but now I’m back to Casa Velas. 5*** We will definitely return. 👍👏�
