Paradise Awaits
We returned to Casa Velas for the 2nd year in a row & we were even more happy with our stay this time! It s the most quiet & peaceful resort we have ever stayed at. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is the place to go! The grounds & accommodations are beautiful & the staff could not be more helpful and pleasant! We will be back at Casa Velas again!

A Honeymoon Well Spent
We spent our honeymoon here and couldn't have been happier. Everything from the staff to the bathroom cleanliness was excellent. The food was delicious, the pool and beach club were gorgeous, and the service was incredible. We also used the spa for a couples treatment and were dazzled by the amenities and staff. The location and security were also fantastic. Very close to the marina and it's nightlife, while being only a short drive from the central Puerto Vallarta boardwalk. Finally, the on-site activities were a joy. Each night there was a new theme (e.g. a "Cuba" night, a casino night, etc.) and we loved them all. It was a truly wonderful experience and I wouldn't recommend staying anywhere else.

one of puerto vallarta's best kept secrets

At first, we were a little hesitant to book a hotel that was not directly on the beach, but we were soon convinced otherwise once we got there. We were definitely well pampered while we were there. The service was outstanding -- friendly staff, extremely accommodating, with the perfect blend of being attentive yet not overbearing. Because it's a small luxury hotel, we were spared the all-too-common annoyances of the high-pressure timeshare sales pitches in the larger Mexican resorts (except during our excursions into town or wandering about the Marina). Our suite had both a jacuzzi and plunge pool which overlooked the golf course. The on site restaurant was delicious, the hotel pool was nice, but our favorite part of the facilities was their beach club, which was still virtually brand new, and was much more luxurious as well as private than at the other marina hotels. We would definately go back

Perfect for us

We spent 4 nights at the Quinta Real in Puerto Vallarta and it was just perfect for us. We have two teenage sons who don't live with us, and we wanted someplace where we would have things to do together. We spend our days using the workout facility (beautiful and nice new equipment) and going to the beach club, swimming pool, playing golf, or walking to the marina. If we had had more time we would have loved to do the spa activities, because their spa facilities are so beautiful. We walked to dinner at the marina every night, and loved the choice of restaurants. The Quinta Real was immaculate and did not feel crowded, so people weren't putting a book on every chair to save it all day. If you have a group where some play golf and others don't, this is a good place because the hotel is right on the Marina Vallarta golf course. We did not want an all-inclusive where we had to eat at the same place all the time, or stand in any lines for anything, or where our kids found other kids to hang with all the time. The Quinta Real was EXACTLY what we wanted. The only thing we did not like was the beds are firm, and we like a soft bed. We just had them put extra padding on the mattress. Our room was the Grand Class Suite, with a king bed and sitting room downstairs and two double beds and sitting room upstairs, with a jacuzzi tub and private plunge pool, for $361 per night plus tax. Since we really need two rooms for the four of us, we felt like it was a great deal. I would be happy to answer any questions anyone has about the Quinta Real, we were very impressed with it

Best kept secret of PV

Initially stayed at the intercontinental, but had to change rooms 3 times in 4 days (insects, fresh oil paint smell, dirty/old bathroom). Lucky for us we found this place. I had stayed at the Four Seasons in AZ a week before our vacation for a work meeting, and this hotel beats it (service, layout, food). Trully an extraordinary location and property. I walked everyday to the nearby driving range and golf course. My family was taken in a golf car to the beach club which is top of line as well. Very nice job keep it up. I will come back many times

Gorgeous hotel

My husband and I stayed at the Quinta Real Christmas of 2002 and loved it. It is a gorgeous hotel and the grounds are immaculate. The staff is unfailingly nice. One morning we were wondering what the weather would be and the staff got on the internet and printed out an internet report of the PV weather for that day in English and had it delivered up to our room within 5 minutes. The hotel is not on the beach, but the beach club is very chic and is on a beautiful, not at all crowded stretch of beach. They will rent bikes to you free of charge and we rode brand new mountain bikes over to the beach club and had a blast just riding around on them throughout the city. The hotel is located in the marina area, which means that you have to take a taxi to get downtown, but the marina area is pretty and there are a lot of good restaurants on the water that are just a short walk from the hotel. It definitely does not feel like you are staying in a tourist trap here - the hotel is actually in a residential area. It is surrounded by beautiful homes and condos. We also had a plunge pool that felt like a bath right outside of our room on our deck. It was perfect to sit in after a long day out in the town. The Quinta also probably has the very best pool in PV. It is enormous and I never saw anyone in the water the entire time we were there. We even had the good fortune of meeting the owner of the hotel. He was very interested in our comments and criticisms and he is a Mexican native, which made us feel good about staying there -- that our money would be going into the Mexican economy rather than to some U.S. bank. The only cons I can think of are: (1) The speakers were blown out on our television (not a big deal for us because we didn't spend much time in our room anyway); (2) The floors are all marble and the doors are not that thick so you can hear absolutely everything outside of your room which does not make for a very peaceful sleep if people are stumbling in late at night wearing high heels. Overall, however, a fabulous experience at the Quinta Real
